Ringette Development Camp – Aug 19-23

Dates: August 19-23, 2019

Camp Designed for players ages 9-13 years old (DOB – 2006-2010)

Program Description: 

• Power skating skills & techniques

• Skill development to include but not limited to shooting, checking, body control, body positioning and passing skills 

• Positional play tactics along with offensive and defensive skills and strategies 

• Implementing situational awareness into competitive play 

• Scrimmages & small area fun games 

• Fundamental strength training off the ice including; squatting, hinging, pulling and pushing movements along with weighted carries and core work 

• Anaerobic and aerobic conditioning on and off the ice 

• Daily Multi-Sport Activities to include; soccer, basketball, dodgeball, ultimate frisbee and other sport/lifestyle activities 

Head On Ice Development Coach – Cassidy McGowanHas been playing Ringette for 13 years and instructing for 5 years. Cassidy is the Director of Player Development for North Winnipeg Ringette Association (NWRA).

Assistant On Ice Development Kaity Cummings: Has been playing Ringette for 10 years at multiple levels, and is also involved in coaching youth development programs and camps. Kaity has always really enjoyed playing the game, and being an instructor now only grows her love for the game. 

Program Includes: 

– 10 hours On Ice Development – Daily ice times @11:30am & 3:15pm

– Daily NRG Fitness/Dryland sessions

– Daily Sport Activities – Multi-Sport sessions

– Daily Educational & Recovery sessions

– Camp Jersey

– Early Bird Registration – one free week of training in NRG, offer valid until May 31st/2019 (Monday-Fridays from 4-7pm)

– Daily Snack & Lunch Time (please note Snacks and Lunch will not be provided)

Program Details:

Vigier Hockey will break down your technical abilities and look at enhancing your game with new techniques to maximize your ability for game situations. Constant feedback to make sure you are growing your game will take your confidence to new heights. Vigier Hockey will make sure you are ready for the upcoming season!

The NRG off-ice program will be designed for the individual athlete, focusing upon; speed-agility-quickness training, power, conditioning, mobility, activation and recovery tactics.

  • All sessions within a state-of-the-art facility; Seven Oaks Sportsplex

  • AAA, AA, limited A1

  • 14 On-Ice sessions

  • 14 Off-Ice NRG training sessions

  • Includes RISE Sport Test development testing session and Tryout Prep 3v3 session

  • Private & Semi-Private on-ice coaching sessions available

  • Semi-Private and Private NRG Training options available April – June, please inquire

About Vigier Hockey:

Personally mentored by Jean-Pierre, the Vigier Hockey staff share a passion to empower players from varying levels to be the best they can be. Vigier Hockey staff come from different playing experiences including Professional, Semi-Pro, NCAA, and Junior hockey. Jean-Pierre Vigier brings his vast professional playing experience with over 200 NHL games, AHL, IHL, NCAA, Swiss-A and incorporates this body of work into high performance training for local players on the ice.

Vigier has supported various Hockey Manitoba development and mentorship programs along with other minor hockey associations. He has also completed the Hockey Canada Skills Coach certification program, which is an application-based program with limited entry annually.
