Doug Played professionally from 1991 to 1998 in the U.S. and Europe. In his last pro season in Ljubljana, Slov, his team won their league championship. He also attended NHL training camps, primarily with the New York Rangers.
He won a National Championship (Allan Cup) in 2003. In 2013 he was inducted into the Manitoba Hockey Hall of Fame as a member of the IDC Northstars. This was the first Manitoba team in 39 years to win the Allan Cup.
Doug has been an instructor and teacher of hockey skills/development in Canada, the U.S. and Europe at various schools, camps and clinics for 30 years. He has coached competitively at all levels, including the Winnipeg AAA system and is a Hockey Canada certified High Performance Coach (HP1). He has also coached in the Hockey Manitoba Program of Excellence (POE) for 3 seasons (U16), including Head Coach in 2013.
He is currently a senior Scout for the Everett Silvertips in the Western Hockey League (WHL), and is in his 14th season. He has also scouted and assisted with player evaluation with the Hockey Canada U17 National Team Program for the past
