Full Week Girls Ringette Camp (Aug 13 – 17) U- 14 & U- 16


Program Description – NRG’s Full-day ringette camp located at the Seven Oaks Sports-Plex will allow players to get the edge over their competition just before tryouts or before the regular season begins for AA players.

This dynamic camp includes experienced coaching lead by Lindsay Burns and Samantha Renooy who emphasize a solid combination of fundamental skills and successful application to game situations.  Each day the athletes will arrive at the training facility and met by excited NRG professionals ready to guide them both on and off ice.

Program out-line:
– 10 hours of ice (2 hours per day)
– 5 hours NRG Fitness/Dryland Sessions (1 hour per day)
– 5 hours NRG Team Activities (1 hour per day)
– 10 hours NRG Educational, Recovery and Rest Activities (2 hours per day)


-Will work on fundamental skating techniques to improve edge work, power and stamina.

– Will further develop their passing, receiving and shooting skills.

– Will apply the above skills into game situations and be taught important game tactics and strategies to get the edge over their competition.

Goalies: Lead by 3-time Senior National Team Member, Amy Clarkson.

The goalies can expect to gain the following instruction during their first on ice session:
– Skating and proper edge work
– Repetition of save selections and mechanics
– Angles and positional play
– Game situations and awareness

Their second session will focus on applying the above skills in game-like situations.

Each dryland training session will consist of key muscle group activation, core stability, movement patterns, and overall athleticism.

Sam Renooy

Sam has been playing ringette for 14 years and coaching for 5 years. As a player she’s been to the Western Canadian Championships winning silver in 2009 and to the Canadian Ringette Championships four times winning silver in 2013 and gold in 2014.  She played on the Team Canada West U19 team where she won bronze in 2012 at the World Ringette Championships. After her 7 years of AA Sam played on the 2015 Canada Winter Games where she and her team won gold for Manitoba for the first time ever at the Canada Winter Games in Prince George, B.C. Sam later made the 2016 Junior National Team where she travelled to Helsinki, Finland and competed in the World Ringette Championships bringing home gold. She continues to play competitively in the National Ringette League on Manitoba Intact and coaches the U16AA Winnipeg Magic.

Lindsay Burns 
Ringette has been a huge part of Lindsay’s life for over 25 years.  She has competed in multiple Canadian Ringette Championships and National Ringette League Championships earning multiple golds, silvers and bronze medals.  Perhaps one of her most memorable moments was representing her Country as a National Team Athlete in2010 and again in 2013 as an assistant captain.  She has been involved in ringette as a player, coach, instructor and fan and is passionate about developing players as well as the sport.  Being a teacher, Lindsay is able to explain drills in a clear and thoughtful way and prides herself on participant improvement and enjoyment in her camps.
