This program will focus on speed development for high school athletes who are pursuing high-level competitive success. The program will be suitable for athletes who already have a consistent background in competitive sport(s) preparation and competition, and would benefit from supplemental speed and power training.
PRINCIPLES, PHILOSOPHY AND PURPOSE
The program is primarily learning based rather than fitness based. Athletes will be coached in sport specific and general preparation for all athletes in the “class.”
Our goals are to improve linear speed, change of direction, coordination and running efficiency. Programs will include the following elements:
· Speed specific warm up: including activation, mobility, coordinative skills and running efficiency
· General and sport specific strength circuits
· Functional and transferable “games”
· Testing and monitoring.
Participants will choose eight (8) of the ten (10) sessions to attend. Price reflects 8 sessions, 10 are offered so that those who will miss a session due to tournaments, etc. will still have reasonable opportunity to get 8 sessions of training.
Dates: Sundays Oct 7th -Dec 16th (NO sessions Nov 11th)
Grades 7-9 Times: 2-3pm
