Justin Giesbrecht

Justin is a recent graduate from the University of Manitoba Kinesiology program. He has also been a Certified Personal Trainer since 2015. Justin brings a high energy to the gym with his experience in training various age groups through many different sports including the University of Manitoba Bisons varsity teams. His versatility as a trainer and his personable character makes him a trainer that creates a contagious energy in the gym that pushes NRG athletes to achieve their performance goals.

Justin grew up playing many sports including hockey, baseball, soccer, football and volleyball. He played Junior A hockey in the MJHL for the Winkler Flyers and the Swan Valley Stampeders and also in the SJHL for the Yorkton Terriers. He played college hockey for Briercrest College in the ACAC and then moved on to play professional hockey in the SPHL (Mississippi Riverkings) and FHL (Danbury Whalers/Watertown Wolves) pro leagues. He now coaches the Eastman Selects AAA Midget hockey team and plays for the CSHL Steinbach Huskies.

In his spare time, Justin likes to play sports and work out in the gym—citing “leg day” as his favourite workout regimen. He also enjoys music and likes to play guitar.

Tyler Swerdyliak

Tyler received his Bachelor of Kinesiology (B-Kin) this spring from the University of Manitoba. He recently was accepted into the physiotherapy program at the University of Manitoba starting this fall. Tyler plans to get his Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certificate, which is sanctioned by the National Strength and Conditioning Association this summer. During the winter months, Tyler is as assistant coach with the Eastman North AA Pewee hockey team, and enjoys watching players develop not only their hockey skills, but develop as people.

Tyler brings a wealth of playing experience too after being drafted by the Spokane Chiefs in the WHL in 2007; He put up 170 points in 4 years of MJHL Hockey both with the Neepawa Natives and the Winkler Flyers.

Tyler believes as a strength and conditioning coach it is his responsibility to lead by example and impact all athletes and a client lives in a positive way. During each session, his main focus is on mentoring, teaching, and inspiring his athletes and clients to help them reach their goals through evidence based exercise.
